Volvo's future is electric. Volvo Recharge is our journey toward the vision of a climate neutral future. When you see "Recharge" it means the vehicle has a plug, whether Pure Electric power or Plug-In Hybrid power.
Volvo offers a variety of buying options including purchase, lease, or (in most states) a flexible subscription program called Care by Volvo.
Both the PHEV and BEV models offer 8yr/100k mi warranties for the battery and related components.
Power
Volvo offers a range of powertrain choices:
- T4: FWD, Gasoline-only (187 Horsepower & 221 lb. ft. of torque)
- T5: FWD or AWD, Gasoline-only (248 Horsepower & 258 lb. ft. of torque)
- T6: FWD or AWD, Gasoline-only (316 Horsepower & 295 lb. ft. of torque)
- T8: AWD, Recharge Plug-In Hybrid (400 Horsepower & 472 lb. ft. of torque)
- P8: AWD, Recharge Pure Electric BEV (402 Horsepower & 486 lb. ft. of torque)
The XC40 Recharge Pure Electric BEV compact SUV is Volvo's first all-electric model with 208 miles of range and 79 MPGe*. The XC40 range is also available in Gasoline-only T4 and T5 drivetrains.
Our XC90 and XC60 models are available in both PHEV and Gasoline-only drivetrain configurations (T8 Recharge Plug-In Hybrid and T5 or T6, respectively).
Our S90 and S60 sedans are available in both PHEV and Gasoline-only drivetrain configurations (T8 Recharge Plug-In Hybrid and T6 for S90, T8 Recharge Plug-In Hybrid and T5 for S60).
When driving the Pure Electric BEV and when driving the PHEV in Pure Electric mode, the vehicle has zero tailpipe emissions.
Technology
Inside our luxury lineup, you will find a plethora of standard technology that other vehicles do not match. The Sensus® infotainment system is ideal for interaction with your music and apps while voice command ensures that you can control everything without taking your eyes off the road. Setting the standard when it comes to connectivity, you may be able to connect to Apple CarPlay® or Android Auto™ and control popular apps like Waze navigation from the 9" Sensus Touchscreen. The XC40 Recharge Pure Electric BEV offers an Android infotainment system complete with Google Assistant, Google Play Store, and Google Maps. A built-in route planner will alert you before your charge runs out and can automatically recommend when and where to charge.
You may precondition your PHEV or BEV vehicle for zero tailpipe emissions in certain models while your vehicle is plugged in. You can even use a mobile phone app to turn on your heated seats and steering wheel, if equipped. With the ability to set a timer, you can program for your comfort every day.
